On Wednesday, October 10, 2012, the assembly began with discussion about the organizing tasks for the 10th Plenary Assembly of the Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conference (FABC) from November 19th to 25th at two locations in Hồ Chí Minh City and Xuân Lộc Diocese.
On Tuesday, October 9, 2012, Bishop Cosme Hoàng Văn Đạt, the Secretary General of CBCV, began the first day of the assembly by announcing agenda of the day: the speech of Archbishop Leopoldo Girelli; the construction of the National Pilgrim Center of Our Lady of Lavang; and the Norms of CBCV.
On Monday afternoon, October 8, 2012, the Bishops of twenty four dioceses of Vietnam arrived in Thanh Hóa to begin their 2nd Semiannual Assembly.
